So this was a gift and I definitely had my doubts at first. However, the quality of both the design and parts was really high. Pieces fit tightly together. Instructions were clear. I even had a part missing which bav promptly replaced. I have a number of UCS sets from the other big name brand and this was on par with those. 10/10 will buy again.

This is the third Bav build I've done and the quality is outstanding. No missing parts, nice packaging, parts fit well, no weak points, really good build instructions, includes containers for parts, unique color, and overall a great value. A Lego equal would be two times as much and less parts and no remote control and electric kit. Take your time and double check your steps. My only criticism would be that a few of the photos could be clearer. Some of the photos don??t show all the attachment points for the sub assemblies to the main structure but you figure it out and no big deal . I highly recommend this build. It's not for kids. I'd say a level 5.

Much bigger and heavier than most technic-style car builds. Also has more functional details made possible by the higher than usual piece count. While the instructions were good and there were no missing pieces, the size alone makes this a really challenging build made for experienced builders. It looks great on a shelf, but due to the weight, you need to be careful when you pick it up. Highly recommended for auto fans and those builders looking for a big challenge.

I finally finished this build and overall it was a ton of fun! Go slow - it took me about 10 hours over a span of 3 weeks. I would not recommend it for a young child as they will likely get bored or annoyed. The set comes with (4) bags; A, B, C, D. Completing each bag felt like an accomplishment. There are a few very challenging parts since this thing is massive! My only complaint is the placement of the USB-C charging port. It could have been put in several places but was placed where the USB-C cable can not reach easily. I ordered a small right-angle USB-C cable which I think will work so it's more of an annoyance than a deal breaker. Overall, the build quality was great and everything was packaged nicely with a ton of extra pieces. The driving/drifting takes some getting used to, but it's fast and super cool to be able to drive around and pop the doors! The battery life is around 15 minutes, which is plenty long IMO. If you want some reasonable entertainment or have a Lego nerd in your life they will appreciate this set.

I am very impressed with this product, especially the design and its special features. The texture of the parts gives it a very high-quality feel and look. Also, the remote control opens the roof and switches it to convertible mode, which is unprecedented! So cool! Looking forward to new products from the brand.

Very good quality. Compatible with Lego. Very complicated to build, but very rewarding when you finish and admire this beauty. Is addictive.

Loved this model. The functionality of it is impressive, you can even adjust the ride height which is new to me. The instructions are easy and there were no missing pieces which is such a source of frustration with some non-Lego kits. Finished product is really impressive looking.

I love this build kit. No missing pieces. (In fact there were a few extra pieces. The assembly guide was really good. There were a couple times that I was a bit stumped but I did get it all resolved. That is what makes a build like this so rewarding.

To Start off, this is well more advanced than your typical "technic" set. The "Leading" Brand Wasn't giving me a challenge, so I turned to these sets. This is the second set from this company and am very pleased. Colors are accurate throughout and no different hues/shading issues. Pieces were all properly stamped and fit securely in place. I did not have any missing pieces with this shipment of the set. There were quite a few extra connection pieces which always helps in the future. Other than that if you get the option to purchase the Motorized version, definitely do so. All in all I would most definitely recommend the purchase of this set.

Got it for my 14 year old son for his birthday. It is officially the biggest "LEGO" set he has. I'm saying lego because it falls under the same category. Through remote control, it can achieve many complex functions, such as controlling the opening of car doors and the raising and lowering of air suspension. It is really big and has a very sleek design to it. 10/10 will buy from BAV again.

I am an avid builder or brick sets and have done over 150 in the past few years. The DAV Plated Sports Car has taken it's place among my favorites! I did a build last week by the BAV and I was very disappointed in the quality. The Plated Sports Car has redeemed them! The set comes in bags labeled A through D as well as a bag of spare parts. The bags are clearly labeled in the manual which is very clear and concise and very easy to follow. The parts are all Lego compatible and went together easily. There were a few spots where connecting assemblies to the body required some dexterity, but nothing that a somewhat experienced builder can't handle. The end result is fantastic looking! Most of my builds are cars and other vehicles. My favorites are hung on my wall and this will be joining them, it looks that good. The red, metallic looking body really catches your eyes. I actually like it without the stickers (there are two sheets of stickers included and packed nicely taped inside the manual) and plan on keeping it that way. The remote control works well and has three different joysticks. Two operate motion and the third operates the lift. The car has actuators that will allow you to raise or lower the height of the car for more or less ground clearance. I have never seen anything like this on a brick set before and it really is cool. The age range states 6 years and up. I think that younger builders will require adult help. I would say that builders 12 years and up should have no problem at all. If you are looking for a great build that is both fun to assemble as well as a fantastic looking final product, the BAV Plated Sports car will be a great addition to your collection. In my opinion, it is well worth the $140 asking price.

OMG this toy is fantastic and looks surreal. Inside the cockpit has soo many details! This car toy kit is not only a fun toy but also a smart way to learn all about assembling a sports car. This 1:10 replica of the Apollo sports car prototype has more than 2,000 blocks representing each part of a sports car, such as drift wheels, electric gullwing doors, body shells, dashboards, seats, etc. This is indeed a fun and exciting way to keep yourself or your kid engaged and focused for a long time. Coming to quality, the overall material looks pretty luxurious, and the design is impeccable. Once you assemble it, you can take it for a spin as any regular toy car with the remote control or through the official app. You can use it as office display, for home decor, to build toy or as a gift to your dearer one. Highly recommended!

Engaging Building Experience: As someone who enjoys the process of building models, I found the assembly of this sports car to be both challenging and rewarding. I'm a big fan of Lego-Technic style sets, and these pieces are compatible with Technic. In terms of quality, the plastic felt great and all the pieces held together well. THERE WAS one problem though: the cross-shape socket on one of the motors was too small! Please see the photos I attached. All the other motors were fine, but this one was way too tight. Since I didn't want to take apart the motor, I "solved" the problem by shaving down the technic axel so it would fit in the hole. That's pretty annoying, because eventually one day I will take this apart to use the parts in another build, but I dont wanna have to shave axes to use the motor. Outside that, everything else felt and worked great. This thing is huge! Way bigger than I was expecting for some reason. I uploaded a photo with the car sitting next to a 2-litre bottle of soda. Yes, that is a full-size 2L bottle. This car drawfs it, lol. As for the RC control, it's really fun. It uses a special kind of wheel that has horizontal motion rollers on it, so when you turn the car, it reaaaaly slides. It's "cheating" compared to real drifting, but it's hilarious and fun to drive. One thing to note is that it uses "differential steering". I.e. instead of turning the front wheels left/right, instead the wheels don't turn and are always facing forward. You then control the speed of the left or right side of the car individually, and the difference causes it to turn. Think of it like tank-steering. So it's a bit goofy to drive, but super fun. Especially with the hilarious drifting ability. Overall, it was a pretty fun build and took several sessions after work to complete. It comes with four bags labeled A, B, C, and D, and each is a pretty big amount of work. It also came with a bag called "tool". Not sure what it's used for, there were no directions. But I think it was just a spare parts bag, so they got you covered. Overall, fun set. I would have given it 5/5 stars, but subtracted one for the motor that was too tight.
